Description: Here's a wonderful vintage children's book featuring a collection of stories about railroad trains. Some are fictional stories and some are "true" stories. There are also several short descriptions of "Trains Around the World", such as "The Flying Scotsman", "The Super Chief", "The Darjeeling-Himalaya Railway" and others.
A half dozen of the stories have identified authors: Margaret Wise Brown, Catherine Woolley, Louis Slobodkin, Miriam Clark Potter, Polly Curren, and Darlene Greis.
The book is profusely illustrated with drawings by Leonard Weisgard
Hardcover - 68 pages; approx. 10" x 13". It's identified inside the front cover with the number "100100".
Copyright: 1955 by Grosset & Dunlap
Condition: Very good, I'd say. Although the outer edges and corners of the covers have several small scrapes and bumps, the interior pages are in excellent shape, clean and bright with no creases, tears or extraneous markings. (Please see scans.)
(NOTE: The whitish speckles and patches at the bottom center of both covers, on and below the locomotive, are simply reflections from the camera's flash.)
